The funds to construct Wingate Hall, the most modern dormitory on the Hunter College campus, were donated to the college at the same time that Xavier Mendenhall’s some-what lackluster application was received in the admissions office. The three story, 16 room yellow stucco affair, built in the Georgian style of the campus’ other buildings, will now be home to the progeny of its benefactor and his fellow classmates.

Jodie Gunderson, a free-thinking pleasure seeker, earned a scholarship to Hunter College in spite of, rather than because of, his high school transcript and SAT score. It was his engaging personality that won over the admission officer who saw the outgoing, artistic kid as a breath of fresh air in an otherwise pretentious and stuffy ivory tower. Jodie’s passion for nature is prominently and unabashedly displayed on his shirt for all the world to see.

Maleena Bettencourt looks at college not as a learning experience but as a life experience and she plans to experience as much as she can cram in to four short years but not so much that she ends up dropping out like her father did.

Update! Jodie and Maleena have gotten engaged and moved to Rigel Heights to begin their new life together.

Monica Drysdale’s serious and studious nature is tempered by her active, extroverted personality. Another of Hunter College’s scholarship students, she earned her place with a perfect 4.0 and an almost perfect 1500 on her SATs. In order to keep her academic scholarship, she must maintain a place on the dean’s list every semester.

Update! Monica married college sweetheart Randal Winfield and moved to his family’s estate in Orion Bay.

Veronica Bettencourt has found her preference to associate only with those of her own social class difficult to maintain now that she has moved to college. Opening her horizons is not something she is terribly interested in, but learning to appeal to the public at large, regardless of the size of their bank account, will be useful to her in her desired career as a politician.

Update! Veronica returned home to Bettencourt Manor after college to begin her career in show biz so she can help change the world through the medium of film.

Elizabeth Mendenhall left Orion Bay determined to fulfill her father’s wishes and forget the child she was forced to give up for adoption. One day she will take over Francis’ position at Mendenhall Enterprises and she must prove herself worthy before he will hand over the reigns of the company his great-grandfather started.

Update! After graduation, Elizabeth did as daddy wished and returned home to Mendenhall Place and began working as a VP in the family firm.

Kitty Cwik, like the Bettencourts and Mendenhalls, is from Orion Bay. The difference is that all her family has left is their name; their bank accounts were almost drained when her father decided to take a huge gamble on an insider tip and got caught. Kitty’s determination to become a lawyer stems from what she sees as the prosecutor’s desire to make an example of her father.

Xavier Mendenhall couldn’t wait to get out from under his father’s roof. He never excelled under pressure like his sister, he never managed to do the right thing and he never really cared but it was only during his last few days of high school that he finally asserted himself and now he must find who he is rather than who his father wants him to be.

Update!Despite the machinations of his family, Xavier followed his heart and married Kitty Cwik in a small backyard ceremony at Cwik Terrace, where he now resides with his wife, her mother and their son.
