Gibson Family

Gibson Family - Jay, wife Brenda and son Jacob. Later additions include adopted daughter Lydia and twins Noah and Damien 14 Elm Avenue, Rigel Heights

Jay and Brenda married right after graduating from high school and settled into a cozy, comfortable bungalow in Rigel Heights; little Jacob came along almost nine months later. Both parents take pride in their blue-collar backgrounds, they aren’t afraid of a good day’s work and would much rather be happy than rich. Though their ritzy neighbors in Orion Bay would never understand why, the Gibson’s actually look down on them.

Jay Gibson currently finds himself out of a job once again, having been fired by Catherine Mendenall for whom he was working as a day maid. Being a maid wasn’t Jay’s first career choice, he was an executive chef at the Clocktower Restaurant before it closed down and would like to get back into the kitchen one day, but for now he must find a way to make ends meet and provide a future for his young son and newly arrived daughter.

Update! Jay has found employment as the executive chef at Court Cafe, a small restaurant in Rigel Heights owned and operated by Robert and Maxine Bettencourt and has recently been gifted the deed to the restaurant thanks to his never-tiring work ethic.

Brenda (Smith) Gibson is young, vivacious, compassionate and kind and family is her number one priority. Brenda loves children, so much so that a house full of pattering feet would be music to her ears. When she is not busy trying to keep up with her son and daughter, she is out in the garden growing the tastiest tomatoes in Rigel Heights.

Jacob Gibson has been declared a child prodigy by the board of directors at Bay Preparatory Academy. His conversations so often go over the heads of his high school educated parents that he has taken to talking to the ants in his farm. His dream is to become the first physicist to solve the questions of string theory and simultaneously validate Einstein’s equation. Jacob’s dream of attending college has come true, he is now living in Van Buren Hall at Hunter College.

Lydia Gibson spent the majority of her baby years at the Sisters of Blessed Mercy convent before being adopted by the Gibson family. Happy in her new home and doted on by her adoptive parents, Lydia may never know who her biological parents are but as she grows up, things are beginning to change for Lydia, now known as L.C. Thanks to Catherine Mendenhall, she is now enrolled at Hunter College.

Noah and twin brother Damien are what kept the Gibson’s from divorcing after Jay found out about Brenda’s scheme to use Lydia to get everything she could out of the rich women of Orion Bay. Despite their parent’s fighting for most of their toddlerhood, both Noah and Damien have grown into well adjusted boys with active, playful personalities. Noah is more shy than his outgoing brother and their hair is a slightly different shade of red, but other than that, these two are identical peas in a pod.
